President Bola Tinubu has approved the setting up of an inter-ministerial committee for the execution of three steel development projects, including the revival of the Ajaokuta Steel Complex in Kogi State.
The Minister of Steel Development, Shaibu Abubakar Audu disclosed this to journalists after a meeting with President Tinubu on Thursday.
According to him, the main task of the committee include sourcing funds for the revitalisation of the moribund Ajaokuta Steel Comlex Limited.
The Minister said the committee would also work to actualise the establishment of a steel plant of a Chinese company, Lu’an Steel Holding Group, as well as finding a location for a proposed steel plant for the India firm, Jindal Steel.
Members of the committee are Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance and the Co-ordinating Minister of the Economy; Doris Uzoka, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment and Dele Alake, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake,
