President Bola Tinubu has approved the substantive appointment of Mr Kayode Egbetokun as the Inspector-General of Police (IG-P).
The confirmation of his appointment followed the recommendation of the Police Service Commission (PSC), which on Tuesday held a meeting with the President at the Villa, Abuja.
Briefing State House correspondents on the justification for appointment, the Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam, said Mr Egbetokun possessed the qualities required to administer the position.
Egbetokun was appointed in June this year to serve in acting capacity, following the retirement of the former Inspector – General of Police, Usman Alkali who was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2021.(vitalnewsngr.com)
