Ekiti State Police Command has confirmed rescuing six pupils and three teachers kidnapped by bandits at Emure Ekiti on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.
Spokesman of the command, Sunday Abutu said the pupils and theur teachers were rescued at about 1:30am of today, Sunday, February 4, 2024.
Abutu, however, said the driver of the school bus was killed by bandits before help could come.
The six pupils and three teachers were kidnapped while returning home in their school bus, The Apostolic Nursery/Pry School, Emure Ekiti.
The in the statement through Abutu said : “All victims were rescued today at about 1.30am, but unfortunately, we lost the driver who was suspected to have been killed by the abductors.”
