Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has appointed Hon. Justice Lekan Adekanye Ogunmoye as the Acting Chief Judge of the state.
Ogunmoye’s appointment approved on Wednesday followed the passing of the former Chief Judge, Hon. Justice John Oyewole Adeyeye, on November 4, 2024.
Justice Ogunmoye’s acting appointment takes effect from November 5, 2024, in line with the powers conferred on the governor by Section 271 (4) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
Born on November 6, 1963, Justice Ogunmoye was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1987 and has been a respected member of the judiciary since his appointment as a judge on April 1, 2010.
Governor Oyebanji, through his Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, extended his best wishes to the newly appointed acting Chief Judge for a successful and impactful tenure.
