No fewer than 50 victims of recent terrorists attack on Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State are currently receiving medical treatment in various hospitals in Ilorin, the state capital.
The victims are being treated for varying degrees of injuries, including gunshot wounds, trauma and shock.
The Senator representing Kwara North Senatorial District, Sadiq Umar, visited some of the injured survivors in the hospital, where he expressed deep sympathy over their ordeal, describing the attack as painful and disturbing.
“I am deeply saddened by what happened to our people in Woro.
“Seeing innocent citizens suffering from gunshot wounds and other injuries is heartbreaking.
“I pray that Almighty Allah grants you quick and complete recovery,” he prayed .
Senator Umar assured the victims of his continued support, stressing that they would not be abandoned during their recovery process.
He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the deployment of security personnel under Operation Savannah Shield.

He said the action has boosted efforts to restore peace and hunt down those responsible for the attack.
The lawmaker also praised Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for what he described as a prompt response to the incident, particularly the directive to the State Emergency Management Agency to provide relief materials to affected residents.
While calling for intensified and sustained security operations across Kwara North, Senator Umar noted that the senatorial district has continued to face recurring security threats.
“Our communities cannot continue to live in fear.
“There must be a sustained security presence across Kwara North to prevent a recurrence of these attacks,” he said.
He urged residents of the area to remain united, hopeful and prayerful despite the challenges.
The senator then reaffirmed his commitment to the safety and wellbeing of his constituents, while calling for lasting peace in the region.
