The incident has set tongues wagging in the town.

Both Ojerinde and Olabisi hailed from Igboho , Oyo State.

A source who will not want to be named confirmed this when he said that “the whole town has been in rude shock since the demise of the former JAMB senior official became public knowledge. ”

In 2021, both Olabisi (Ph.D.) and Barr. Peter Oyewole, kinsmen to the embattled former JAMB registrar agreed to testify in the prosecution of the retired Professor of measurement and evaluation’s N5.2 billion alleged corruption case.

Ojerinde according to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) is standing trial in the 18-count charge brought against him, of diverting public funds estimated at about N5.2 billion while he was the head of the National Examination Council (NECO), and later JAMB.

The Nation newspaper had reported how both Olabisi and Oyewole allegedly played key roles in providing a safe haven for Ojerinde’s money laundering.

It was further reported that court documents filed by the prosecuting team, led by Ebenezer Shogunle, by the ICPC claimed that Olabisi and Oyewole allegedly served as conduits through which Ojerinde allegedly diverted public funds.

In a Facebook post to eulogize the deceased, a Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on print media, Moses Alao described the late as a giver, a carer, and a truly good man.

Prince Joel Oyeyiola, another indigene of the town also described the man as a kind, generous, and lively cheerleader and caregiver.

Morolahun Moses Oyedele remarked that no amount of words can be used to describe his benevolence.

Also commenting on Prince Joel Oyeyiola Facebook post on the deceased, Barr. Adesope Azeez, a former state assembly member beseeched God to be pleased with him.

Abel Heaven, a member of the Oyo youth parliament asked God to comfort his family. (votalnewsngr.com)
