The Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Alhaji (Dr.) Ahmed Tijani Muhammed Anaje, has urged Nigerians to continue to tolerate and live in peace with one and another irrespective of differences in religion and tribe.
Ohinoyi who is also the Vice President, Kogi State Council of Chiefs and Vice President, Jama’atu Nasril Islam, gave the charge in Lokoja on Thursday when he visited the Secretariat of the state branch of the Council Of Ulama’u (COU).
The Paramount Ruler stressed the need for peaceful co-existence among Nigerians, saying this will allow the country to achieve its full potentials.
Ohinoyi who promised to use his eminent position to serve Almighty Allah and humanity, added that he stands for all irrespective of religion, tribe, colour or race.
He said : ” As a traditional ruler, I have witnessed first-hand, the transformative power of unity and cooperation.
” In Kogi State, we have made significant strides in fostering peace and harmony, thanks to the unwavering support of our government and the invaluable contributions of the Muslim Ummah.
“I urge you all to therefore continue your tireless efforts in promoting peace, tolerance, and understanding.
“Let us be beacons of hope in a world that often seems divided.
Together, we can build a Kogi State that is not only prosperous but also a model of interfaith harmony.”
The traditional ruler also tasked the Muslim Ummah to work towards a more just and equitable society.
In his welcome address, the State Chairman, Kogi State Council of Ulama’u, Sheik Salman Adams, represented by Justice Suleiman Olorunfemi, praised the traditional ruler for his love and commitment for a united Kogi State.
Olorunfemi lauded Ohinoyi ‘s efforts at preaching peace and harmony, saying his recent appointment as the Coordinator North Central, Traditional Rulers is a testament to his effective leadership style.
He also explained activities of the Council were highlighted to His Royal Majesty.
The council also assured him of its support at all times.
Encomium was also showered on His Majesty for his simplified and exemplary leadership style and for such first ever Royal visit to the Council Secretariat.
Highlight of the visit was the presentation of a copy of the Holy Quran to the Traditional Ruler
