Ododo Unveils First Kogi Annual Media Report, Promises Harmonious Relationship with Journalists

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has unveiled the maiden annual media report which detailed his administration’s achievements in the last 14 months in the state.

The event was held in Lokoja on Wednesday.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Folashade Ayoade, Ododo emphasized his administration’s commitment to good governance, transparency, and accountability.

The governor in his words “We believe that effective governance is not just about delivering services but ensuring that our people are connected and informed every step of the way.”

The Annual Media Performance Report tracks and evaluates media coverage of the administration from January 2024 to January 2025.

It provided valuable insights into how well the government is communicating with the public and shaping perceptions.

Governor Ododo highlighted the significance of the report, saying : “This report signals a new era of communication in our administration, one that emphasizes the importance of keeping records and preserving information about how we keep our citizens well-informed and actively engaged in the process of governance.”

The report revealed that the state recorded over 6,000 media mentions across television, radio, print, and digital platforms, demonstrating the government’s commitment to transparency and continuous flow of information to the people of Kogi State and beyond.

Special Adviser to the Governor
on Media, Hon. Ismaila Isah, commended the governor for believing in his team and providing an enabling environment for the Teamto thrive.

He also stressed the importance of collaboration between the government and the media stating

He said:”This report symbolizes the beginning of an even more robust collaboration between the government and the media, working together to advance the development of the state, foster greater accountability, and build stronger public trust.”

Ismaila further revealed that the motivation for putting the Report together was the fact that we need to measure media performance as such is the only way we can sustain consistent media improvement in the State. (vitalnewsngr.com)
