Ododo Increases Monthly Pension Of Kogi State Retirees By N10,000

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State says he has approved the payment of additional N10,000 to monthly pension of all retired state civil servants.

Ododo who disclosed this on Tuesday said he has also approved free health insurance coverage for all pensioners earning not more than N50,000 under the state’s health insurance scheme.

“This morning, I joined many of our illustrious elders and senior citizens along with members of my cabinet and our friends in the labour movement to adopt recommendations of the state committee on the implementation of new minimum wage and consequential adjustments for all categories of salary earners in the state with the approval of a new harmonization that gives additional N10, 000 in monthly earnings by all pensioners in the state.

“We have also approved free health insurance coverage for all pensioners earning not more than Fifty Thousand Naira under our health insurance scheme in the state,” Ododo said.

The governor had last week approved N72,500 as the new minimum wage for the state workers. (vitalnewsngr.com)
