NYSC, ITF, Immigration Pledge To Strengthen Ties With Dangote Cement

Some major stakeholders in the country have pledged to partner with the Dangote Cement Plc to speed up the realization of government objectives of providing social and economic development to Nigerians.

They made the pledge during separate
familiarization visits to the Dangote Cement Plant, Obajana, Kogi State.

Top officials of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and Industrial Training Funds (ITF) said their visits were prompted by the commitment of Dangote Group’s President, Alhaji Aliko Dangote,  to job creation, as well as social and economic development of Nigeria.

The Kogi State Coordinator of NYSC, Mr. Femi Osungbohun, said his team visited the Dangote Cement Plant to acknowledge and appreciate the management for its consistent support in the area of welfare of Corps members.

He said the visit was in appreciation of the cement company in being one of the highest recipients of corps members, as well as infrastructural development at the Asaya Camp, Kabba.

The Co-ordinator
requested the company assistance to build a befitting hall with the imprint of its Group President, adding that the contributions of Mr. Dangote were numerous in Nigeria.

Speaking earlier, Plant Director, Dangote Cement, Obajana, Engr. Azad Nawabuddin said the company will not relent in its Corporate Social Responsibilities schemes to host communities, key institutions and social programmes to other catchment areas.

Engr. Nawabuddin, who was represented by the General Manager, Human Assets Management (HAM), Mr. Adeniyi Azeez, assured of the company’s continuing collaboration with major stakeholders.

Similarly, speaking during a familiarization visit to the Dangote Cement Plant at Obajana, Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kogi State Command, Mr. J. O. Omezi, said his visit was to help strengthen relationship between the two organizations.

He expressed appreciation for the numerous support the service has been receiving from the company.

According to him, if the relationship is sustained, it would benefit both the Dangote Cement and the NIS.

In his welcome remark, Engr. Azad Nawabuddin welcomed the team to the plant, adding that the company takes their collaboration seriously and will support in every way possible to sustained it.

Similarly, officials from the Industrial Training Funds (ITF), Kogi State Office also paid an official visit to the Cement Plant as part of their routine visit to check the compliance level of the Plant to the training regulations.

The team was led by Engr. Babatunde Olugbenga John, Head of Training, ITF, Kogi State Area Office.

The team was received by the GM HAM, Mr. Adeniyi Azeez, and later joined by the Plant Director, Engr. Azad Nawabuddin, along with other top management staff.

The high point of the visit was the presentation of a plaque to the Plant by ITF Area Office which was received by the Plant Director to mark the recognition of the Plant as one of the compliant organizations in Nigeria.

The team also seized the opportunity to market available programmes that are aimed at building capacity of youth for self-employment and job opportunities.

Speaking earlier, the Plant Director enjoined the ITF team to give feasibility to their activities in Kogi State and most especially those ones related to Dangote Cement Obajana.

He pledged the support of the Plant in ensuring that some of their programmes are patronized while enjoining the to facilitate and ensure that Dangote Cement Obajana enjoy all benefits accruable to it.
