The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has expressed deep sorrow over tragic auto crash in Kano State, which claimed 23 lives and left over 50 others injured.
In a message of condolence, the Forum extended sympathies to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, the bereaved families, and the people of Kano, describing the incident as a painful and heartbreaking loss.
According to the Kano State FRSC Sector Commander, Umar Matazu, the accident happened on February 13, 2025, at around 9:50 p.m.
The Sector Commander explained that the passengers involved were 67 adults and four children, totaling 71 people.
In his reaction, Kwara State Governor and NGF Chairman, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, conveyed the Forum’s solidarity, stating, “We stand with the government and people of Kano in this difficult moment.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who lost their loved ones, and we pray for a swift recovery for the injured.”
The NGF also prayed for divine comfort for the grieving families and for the souls of the departed to rest in peace.
