“We receive it every month. But we are operating TSA. What ever enters this account enters Government account straight.

“Whenever we write, we use to get our money immediately. The University is well funded by the State Government.

” The total number of Students enrolled is not more than 10,000 but not less than 3,000.

“I don’t have the exact figure now. Why because some students are still registering as we speak especially the new student, ” he stated.

Salawu added that, efforts are being made by the institution’s management to accommodate more students in the hostel.

He said : “We have 180 bed space presently. As I speak to you, the report I was given by State consultant last week indicate that there will be ground breaking of 400 bed space for student hostel by next week.

” The Governor himself will ve coming to do that he has approved it.

“We have private developer. We have gone for MOU. It has already been considered and after then it will be submitted to the State Government for necessary approval and due process.”

On security, the Vice Chancellor intimated his August visitors that, due to the terrain, security agencies including Local hunters were contracted to ensure the safety of students, staff and properties on campus.

He said : “Because of the nature of our terrain, we engage our local hunters. Our local hunters are from this place.

“They know the nook and crannies of the environment. They have effectively checked the invaders.

“Routinely, we train them in conjunction with the State security. They are hunters and are very conventional.

“Also, we engage some private security from other state. We have MOU with them and they are doing their best to secure the school and it environs.

” To the glory of God, we have never had any incident recorded and we won’t have by the special grace of God.

In his remarks, the President of NGE , Mr Eze Anaba scored the Kogi State Government high in the area of education.

The veteran journalist maintained that, with what he and his team have seeing so far, Kogi State remains a destination for the acquisition of good knowledge and skills.

Anaba said : “Since the beginning of this tour, we have seen the good work of the Kogi State Government.

“Education is light. Without a good educational background of our students, the future is not certain.

“What you are teaching here is what Nigeria needs. So, hopefully, the future, strength and the progress of Nigeria, in terms of technology starts from here.

” Hopefully, we are optimistic that, you will train, produce your own security here through ICT.”.  (vitalnewsngr.com)
