Lokoja – The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Abdullahi Ganduje charged members of the party in Kogi State to immediately embark on a door -to-door campaign so as to ensure a total victory for the party in the coming governorship election in the State.
Ganduje made the charge in Lokoja on Saturday while inaugurating a 191- member National Gubernatorial Campaign Council for the governorship election in Kogi State.
Ganduje who was joined by other members of the National Working Committee of the APC to inaugurate the campaign council urged members to bring in innovations that will convince voters in the state that the APC has no alternative.
The Chairman who stated that the APC remain the party to beat in the election said the party is desirous of taking the people of the state to the promised land.
“The APC remains the only option for development, the only alternative for good governance and the only political vehicle to convey the people of Kogi State, and indeed, Nigeria, to the place of our collective aspiration of prosperity and development,” he said.
Ganduje said that he was optimistic of a very successful electioneering campaign, expressed his
strong believe in the capacity and ability of the Chairman and Co-Chairman as well as the campaign committee members to deliver and ensure the victory of APC on November .
The Chairman commended Governor Yahaya Bello for his good performance, saying that he was particularly exceptional in the delivery of legacy projects.
He called on voters in the state to vote for the APC candidate, Ahmed Usman Ododo in the coming election so as to sustain the current tempo of development in the state.
Ganduje was also full of gratitude for the people of Kogi State for their support to APC and to the Campaign Council.
He also thanked all members of the Kogi State National Gubernatorial Campaign Council for their willingness to serve on the committee.
The Chairman also appealed to Nigerians to remain patience and continue to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his effort and determination to address the economic challenges facing the country.
“In no distance time, by the special grace of God, such policies and programmes would eventually yield positive results,” he said.
The National Secretary of the party, Sen. Ajibola Bashiru in his welcome address said the inauguration of the campaign council marked the begining of journey to the APC’s victory in the election.
He said the party’s decision to come down to Lokoja to inaugurate the campaign council against the established procedure of holding it in Abuja was a deliberate decision to take the battle to the field.
The Secretary called on Abuja based politicians from the state to come down to Kogi State to come and work with others to deliver victory on November 11.
He said the 191-membet campaign council was a demonstration of capacity, strength and unity and commitment of the party of the party to reach out to over 1,960 registered voters in the state .
The National Secretary charged council to run issue-based campaigns, urging them to consolidate on the party’s existing strong base in Kogi Central and work more in Kogi East and Kogi West to secure victory in the election.
The campaign council is headed by the governor of Ogun State , Prince Dapo Abiodun while other members are Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu, Governor Abdullahi Sule, Governor Bago and Governor Alia.
Other members include Owele Rochas Okorocha, Prince Tonye Cole, Mrs Paulen Tallen among others.
Responding, Governor Dapo Abiodun promised that the committee will no stone unturned to ensure the victory of the party in the coming election.
He said the committee will consolidate on the victory of the APC in the February 25 and March 18 elections, saying that the party was nit ready to lose the state to the opposition.
Abiodun said that the party will deploy necessary logistics and other resources to crush the opposition in the election .
The governor said the coming election is an acid test for President Bola Tinubu and Professor Ganduje, saying that the party cannot afford to fail.
He said the committee will be relying on the support and goodwill of Governor Yahaya Bello to ensure the success of the task before it.
Abiodun called for the support and cooperation of stakeholders within and outside the state to enable the party secure victory in the election.
Dignitaries present include the Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazak of Kwara State, members of the National Working Committee, deputy governors, commissioners and other top members of the party. (vitalnewsngr.com)
