Kogi State, government has congratulated Mr Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi on his appointment as the new Director – General of the Department of State Security (DSS).

The congratulatory message was contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Lokoja by  Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the state Commissioner for Information and Communications.

The government said the appointment of Ajayi was apt given his vast experience, commitment and dedication to duty over these years.

“The appointment is indeed a round peg in a round hole as Mr. Ajayi has distinguished himself as a man who is committed to hard work, integrity and competence in the fight against criminality.

“The Governor of the State, His Excellency Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo commended the President for his eagle-eye talent, spotting prowess for rewarding one of the most brilliant security architects in the country with the well deserved appointment.

“The Governor described Mr Ajayi as an astute crime fighter, intelligence gatherer and processor who will ensure that Nigeria hits the right spots to improve security.

“For years as the State Director of the DSS in Kogi State, Mr Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi displayed exceptional commitment and knowledge in the area of crime fighting to make the State safe.

“Despite bordering ten other states, the DSS under his leadership in the State was able to curtail the activities of criminals in the State, earning him an indisputable reputation as a silent achiever whose work is seen more than heard.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR has once again displayed his undisputed quality of spotting exceptional talents and saddling them with the responsibility of making Nigeria a better place for us all.

“With the appointment of Mr Ajayi as the new leader in the Yellow House, we are confident that he will put his experience to bear to cripple criminality and ensure peace in Nigeria.

“We congratulate Mr Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi on his new appointment and wish him the best in his well deserved role,” the statement said.
