The Ayegunle Gbede community in Ijumu Local Government area of Kogi State has congratulated Prof. Nasir Naeem Abdulsalam on his appointment as the new Managing Director of Ajaokuta Steel Company.
The congratulatory message was contained in a statement issued by Yusuf Adeyanju Yisau, National Public Relations Officer, Ayegunle Gbede Descendants Union.
The union said Abdulsalam’s appointment, as the new helmsman of the multi – billion dollars worth steel complex by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was well deserved.
Abdulsalam, an indigene of Ayetoro Gbede town in Kogi State was appointed by President Bola Tinubu on Friday, April 4, 2025.
“This important appointment is a testimony to your exceptional leadership qualities, wealth of experience and contributions to the steel industry.
“Your background as a distinguished professor of geophysics, former Head of the Physics Department at Yakubu Gowon University, Abuja and Technical Adviser to the Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu makes you uniquely qualified for this role.
“May your tenure be marked by significant growth, innovation, and progress in the steel industry.
“We also pray for your safety, good health, and prosperity,” the statement said.
Also, the Ayegunle Gbede Students’ Union (AGSU), has congratulated Prof. Nasir Abdul’salam on his appointment as the Managing Director of Ajaokuta Steel Company in Kogi State.
The students union in a statement obtained by Vital News on Saturday described the appointment of Abdulsalam as a testament to his exceptional leadership skills, vast expertise, and unwavering commitment to national development.
Bojuwon Yunus, AGSU National President signed the statement.
“We are confident that your visionary leadership will propel the Ajaokuta Steel Company to greater heights and contribute significantly to Nigeria’s industrialization.
