Arc. Salman Idris, member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency on Kogi State in the House of Representatives has joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Idris made this known in a letter he addressed to the Speaker of the House, Right Hon. Tajudeen Abbas.
He cited the national leadership currently rocking the ADC as his reason for defecting to the APC.
In the letter which was read on the floor of the house, Salman Idris said his move drom ADC to APC followed careful consultation with critical stakeholders in his constituency.
According to him, the move also followed calls by his constituents to align with the political party that will best accommodate our collective political values and principles.
The letter reads : “I wish to formally notify The Rt. Honourable Speaker and respected colleagues that due to the National Leadership crisis within African Democratic Congress.
“I have resolved, after careful consideration and consultation with critical stakeholders, political associates, and constituents in Kabba-Bunu/ljumu Federal Constituency and Kogi State at large to move from The African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the All Progressive Congress (APC) with immediate effect.
“As a true representative of the people, I believe that this defection has become exigent owing to the increase call from my constituents to align myself with the political party that will best accommodate our collective political values and principles.
