In Kano, Father, Son, One Other Die While Trying To Retrieve Mobile Phone From Pit Latrine

Malam Danjuma, aka “Black,” 60, his 35-year-old son , Ibrahim, and 35-year-old Aminu Gaye on Sunday died inside a pit latrine while attempting to retrieve a mobile phone.

The Public Relations Officer of Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi confirmed the incident on Sunday

“At roughly 11:00 a.m., the Tsanyawa Fire Station called the agency to report that four men were trapped within a pit latrine,” he said.

Abdullahi said Danjuma became stuck while attempting to recover a mobile phone that had fallen into the pit toilet.

” Then, in an attempt to save his father, his son went into the pit toilet and became imprisoned as well.

“Gaye and Alasan also entered to rescue both men, but they also got trapped,” he said.

According to Abdullahi, the fourth person was rescued, whereas the first three were saved while unconscious.

He said all the victims were turned over to Tsanyawa Police Division Superintendent of Police, Iro Lado.

Abdullahi added that the victims were taken by the police to Bichi Special Hospital for medical care, where the attending physicians pronounced three of them dead and one alive.(vitanewsngr.com)
