Members of Olubadan-in-Council will tomorrow, Monday, August 4, 2025 hold a crucial meeting during which they will deliberate and nominate Chief Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The meeting will hold at the Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo, Ibadan North Local Government.
The deliberation will start by 11:00 a.m.
“The meeting comes after the expiration of the 21-day mourning period for the 43rd Oba Owolabi Olakulehin,” a notice of invitation to the meeting said.
The notice of meeting was issued by the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola in Ibadan.
Oba Abimbola as the Head of Balogun Line will preside over the meeting.
At the meeting, Oba Abimbola is expected to ask the Olubadan Line to nominate Oba Ladoja as the next Olubadan.
Oba Ladoja performed similar role in 2024 when he presided over a meeting to deliberate and nominate late Oba Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin as the 43rd Olubadan.
Oba Ladoja, the Olubadan designate was the governor of Oyo State from 2003 to 2007 and was also a Senator in the aborted Second Republic.
