One of the suspected kidnappers of the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Abia State University, Professor Godwin Emezue, has been arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos
He was about boarding a flight to Turkey when he was spotted by security agents who promptly arrested him.
This is coming as another suspect involved in the abduction of the Vice Chancellor was also arrested in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital.
Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, made the disclosure during his monthly press briefing tagged ” Governor Otti speaks to Abians.”
Otti said that the duo have been returned to the state to face appropriate criminal charges.
He disclosed the two suspects were arrested by men of “Operation Crush” set up by the state government to tackle insecurity and criminality in the south east State.
He said despite the high cost of securing Abia residents and their property, the state security vote would continue to be judiciously and frugally managed. (vitalnewsngr.com)
