Hon. Omebije Is Tested, Trusted, Not A Fraud

Hon. Emmanuel Omebije is a highly revered and Distinguished personality at all times.

Sequel to a malicious publication making the rounds in some media circle by a group of ingrates aiming to tarnish the hard-earned reputations of Hon Emmanuel Omebije over what does not exist at all, we beg to differ.

We know Hon. Omebije’s stature, we know his standing.

This does not necessarily mean that we are taking sides.

This said man, Okpanachi James Okolo who sponsored this publication is seeking public sympathy.

In the publication he mentioned. APC THUGS IN 2007, was APC party formed 2007?

He claimed that N120million was given to me for his surgery in 2007, N120million in 2007?

These are grievous fallacies of all time.

Hon Emmanuel Omebije who is a Two- term House of Assembly Member and Former Deputy speaker of the Kogi state House of Assembly (2011- 2015) Representing Okura state House of Assembly gives a valid and vivid account on His involvement with this person.

According to Omebije, as a member representing okura constituency, he raised a motion on the floor of the State House of Assembly over the accident of the said boy, seeking urgent assistance from the kogi State government over his predicament.

The said boy’s accident wasn’t an acid attack as he claimed in the publication, but Gush of Hot Water from an overheated Car Radiator which He ignorantly Opened carelessly.

In that process of resolution of the house, the governor’s attention was drawn, and the accident case was handed over to the Government House’ Medical Doctor, in person of Dr Mathew.

To fast track and secure the boy’s medical treatment, Hon. Omebije facilitated the procurement of their international passport.

However, due to his engagement in state matters, Hon Omebije didn’t hear anything from them again.

Then , he later called on Dr Mathew to inquire about the boy’s medical trip to foreign country.

It was at that point that Dr Mathew informed Hon Omebije that the Governor had approved and released the sum of THREE MILLION NAIRA to the victim through his office.

This was a rude shock to Hon Omebije who then called the boy to confirm if it was true.

To his consternation, it was true.

So , idea to fly the boy abroad for medical surgery was aborted

Around 2016 after his exit from the House of Assembly, unknown to him, Omebije, the boy took the matter to Berekete family radio alleging that Hon Emmanuel Omebije had collected N14 million from the governor on his behalf.

The Former Deputy Speaker was later invited to the Berekete family Radio which he gladly honoured to narrate his own side of the story.

The Honourable called Dr Mathew as a witness and this was confirmed as the station (Berekete) called Dr Mathew who confirmed that the governor only sent N3 million through Dr Mathew and the victim personally appeared to collect the money.

For further details, Berekete family sent two people to meet the then Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris to confirm the initial money he approved.

Alhaji Ibrahim Idris confirmed to them that nothing of such happened, that only THREE MILLION NAIRA was authorized and released for the medical treatment of the victim.

“It’s however shocking and saddening to see my reputation being dragged in the mud in some newspaper publications flying around over what happened in the figment of the imagination of the persons behind ithe story that, I, Hon Emmanuel Omebije ran away with N120million.”

It’s preposterous, unfair and unkind to make such statement against the person who facilitated his political appointment as SSA to former Governor Ibrahim Idris at that time.

I hereby call on all well-meaning Nigerians to ignore that publication; it is the highest level of Character Assassination.

I rose up for him because he is from my constituency, seeking medical sponsorship from the Kogi State government as at that time and the little I could do was to fast track the process of getting foreign medical trip, which was not possible without an International passport which I voluntarily and graciously facilitated for him”.

It is worthy of note that Alhaji Husseini Ibrahim, Peoples Democratic Party PDP Dekina zone, has attested to the quality of Hon. Omebije’s character, warning those behind the campaign to desist, adding that daring consequences awaits anyone found culpable in the matter.

There’s no gainsaying the fact that Hon. Emmanuel Omebije is a honest, transparent and reliable person whose stock in trade is to assist people regardless of creed, race or status.

His tenure in the state assembly is a testament to this.

I will therefore not sit back and watch people with low esteem, ingrates and morally bankrupt to soil ‘a hand of fellowship’.

I will not fold our hands to encourage undesirable elements and merchants of falsehood smear the personality of an illustrious son with spurious allegations.

Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Omebije
Former Deputy Speaker
Kogi State House of Assembly. (vitalnewsngr.com)
