The second and last batch of 172 intending pilgrims to this year’s hajj from Kogi State have arrived Saudi Arabia.
The state Amirul Hajj, Mallam Zakariyahu Aliyu Abubakar who confirmed this to Vital News said the pilgrims arrived Medinah, Saudi Arabia Tuesday evening.
According to him, the pilgrims were received by officials of the state and National Hajj Commission.
With this development, all 722 intending pilgrims from the state are now in Saudi Arabia as scheduled.
It will be recalled that the Kogi State contingent to this year’s Hajj left Lokoja on Sunday, June 4, for Abuja enroute Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj.
The first batch of the pilgrims comprising of 559 of them, including state officials led by the Amirul Hajj, Mallam Zakariya Abubakar Aliyu (Zaak) in company with the Executive Chairman of the State Hajj Commission, Shaikh Luqman Musa Imam, his members of staff and ad-hoc workers left Abuja Airport on Monday, June 5,2023 for Medinah.
The Amirul Hajj said all the 722 intending pilgrims arrived safely and are good spirit.
“They are well accommodated and are settling down for the spiritual activities and visitations to various designated spiritual areas of the city and its environs particularly in Prophet’s Mosque which is the most prominent focal point of the activities,” he explained. (vitalnewsngr.com)
