Katsina — The Katsina State commissioner for science and technology, Dr Rabe Nasir, has been assassinated by gunmen.
Nasir was assassinated in the afternoon of Wednesday at his residence located at Fatima Shema Housing Estate , Katsina, the state capital.
He was killed shortly after observing his Zurhi prayer inside his apartment in the estate. Nasir was 65 years old.
The state governor, Alhaji Aminu Masari rushed to the commissioner’s house immediately after being informed of Nasir’s gruesome murder.
Masari who was visibly shaken by the killing was briefed by a team of medical personnel called in to attend to Nasir.
The victim who represented Mani/Bindawa federal constituency from 2007 to 2011 in the House of Representatives was appointed a Commissioner in 2019.
He attended University of Abuja, University of Kansas, USA, Bayero University , Kano, and the Government Secondary School , Giwa, Kaduna State.
