Lokoja – The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said the Lokoja-Abuja highway has been cleared for free flow of traffick to and from Southern and Northern parts of the country.
The Kogi State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Stephen Dalung stated this while giving an update on an accident that occured on the highway at about 7:05am of Sunday, May 21.
He said that the accident which occurred Opposite FRSC Unit Command in Koton Karfe , Kogi State was caused by speed and loss of control on the part of the Driver of the Toyota Hiace bus.
Dalung explained that the Toyota Hiace which was conveying pepper summersaulted, crossed the road and hit an Abuja bound DAF Tanker loaded with PMS, thereby leading to an inferno.
He said four persons were rescued from the accident, adding that no live was lost in the crash.
“My men have carried out rescue of 4 person’s from the toyota Hiace and the tanker with two of the injured victims taken to Ideal Hospital Koton Karfe while other operatives are on traffic control to ensure free flow of vehicles across the scene.
“The inferno has subsided but still burning.
“There is need for strict observance of speed limits and caution on the part of Motorists due to certain bad portions of the road,” he said.
