A fatal crash has claimed the lives of 10 people at a spot on Obajana – Lokoja road in Kogi State.
Eleven other persons were injured in the crash which occurred in the night of on Friday, 10th October 2025.
The accident occurred at a spot at Apamaru community aling the road.
The Federal Riad Safety Corps (FRSC) in a preliminary report blamed the crash on speed violation and wrongful overtaking on the part of the driver.
It said the driver lost control of the vehicle while on a night journey.
The Corps Marshal of the FRSC,Shehu Mohammed, expressed grief over the incident.
He reiterated that night travels, excessive speeding, and wrongful overtaking have continued to be major causes of fatal road crashes in Nigeria.
Mohammed urged commercial vehicle operators to adhere strictly to road safety regulations, emphasising that the Corps will intensify its enforcement on overloading and advocacy to discourage night journey across critical corridors in Nigeria.
The Corps Marshal, also urged passengers to remain vigilant and proactive in cautioning or reporting drivers who exhibit reckless behaviour behind the wheels. (vitalnewsngr.com)
