Abuja – The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio on Monday said that the immediate past governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai was among three ministerial nominees yet to be confirmed.
He said 45 ministerial nominees out of 48 nominees forwarded to the Senate by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu have been confirmed.
Akpabio said Stella Okotete (Delta) and Danladi Umar (Taraba) were the remaining two nominees not confirmed.
He said their confirmation was being put on hold due to delayed security checks.
The Senate President, however, said 45 of the 48 ministerial nominees,were cleared by the Senate for inauguration by President Bola Tunubu.
“El-Rufai and two others have not been cleared by security checks,” he said.
Those cleared are ; Sen. Abubakar S.Kyari ,Borno , Abubakar Eshiokpekha Momoh, Edo, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, Rivers State, Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev, Benue, Sen. John Own Enoh, Cross River, Bello Muhammad, Sokoto,
Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, Jigawa, Amb. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, Bauchi, Barr. Uju-Ken Ohaneye, Anambra, Hon. (Dr) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo,Ondo, Dr NKEIRUKA ONYEJIOCHA, ABIA, and Dr. Betta Edu, Cross River.
