Ado-Ekiti – The Ekiti State House of Assembly on Tuesday elected Mr Gboyega Aribisogan as its new Speaker.
A two-term lawmaker, he polled 15 votes to defeat Olubunmi Adelugba of Emure Constituency who polled 10 votes.
Aribisogan was immediately sworn in as Speaker by the Clerk of the House, Tola Esan, following his victory.
He is replacing the former Speaker, Hon Funminiyi Afuye who died on October 19.
Afuye, 66 years, died at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital after suffering cardiac arrest.
Aribisogan, the new Speaker is representing Ikole 1 Constituency in the Assembly.(vitalnewsngr.com)
