Muslims in the country have been enjoined to guide their religion and refrain from associating partner with the Almighty Allah.
A cleric, Dr Abdul Kabeer Hashim made the call in a sermon he delivered shortly after leading Muslim Umah to observe the two rakha prayer at Al-Huda Centre Eid praying ground along Ayegun -Oleyo road in Oluyole Local Government area of Oyo State.
He admonished the congregation to use the eid el kabir period to renew their faith in Almighty Allah and to show love and kindness to fellow human beings.
He called on Muslims to emulate Prophet Ibrahim by being patience, faithful and having complete trust in their Creator.
Imam Ashimi particularly warned muslims to be wary of activities of a sect which members having been preaching against the existence of God, thereby creating doubts in the mind of the people.
He admonished Muslims to hold tight their five daily prayers and continue put their trust in God.
The Imam also admonished husbands to take charge of their responsibility at home and engage in decent work to take care of their wives and children.
He said Islam frowns at the practice of passing/sharing family responsibilities with women, saying it is the responsibility of husbands to take care of their wives and children.
The Cleric , however, said wives can assist their husbands in taking care of the family.
He also charged women to be alive to their responsibility, especially in the area of upbringing the children so that they don’t become wayward.
He said the problems of indecent dressing, addiction to drugs and other social vices among youths of today can be curbed if wives can be up to their responsibilities at home.
Imam Ashimi further admonished women to refrain from adultery and be submissive to their husbands to make the society becomes better.
He decried the menace of examination malpractice which he said haa become rampart and making nonsense of the country’s education system.
He charged government and private school operators to rise to the challenge by employing qualified teachers, provide teaching aids, provide standard laboratories and libraries and be more stricter in enforcing discipline on teachers and students.
Imam Ashimi called on parents to be more involved the academic activities of their children by monitoring them to ensure that they spend less time on social media. (vitalnewsngr.com)
