Ibadan – The Oyo State Anti-Corruption Agency (OYACA) has arrested a senior civil servant, Wahab Nasiru Olabanji for alleged
extortion of huge sums of money from 11 job seekers in the state.
The Chairman of the agency, Hon. Justice Eni Esan (rtd) disclosed this in a statement in Ibadan on Wednesfsy.
According to the statement, Olabanji , extorted the money from job seekers during the recruitment exercise carried out by the State Hospital Management Board in 2021
“The said civil servant was apprehended by the OYACA and after investigation, the Agency was able to recover some of the money from him, which will soon be distributed to the victims of his fraudulent act,” the statement said.
Esan further said that a prima facie case had been established against the suspect, saying that the case file has been referred to the office of the Attorney-General for the prosecution of the suspect in line with the provision of the OYACA LAW, 2019. (vitalnewsngr.com)
