Lokoja-based non governmental organisation, Conscience for Human Rights and Conflict Resolution has called for the establishment of an independent panel to investigate the bomb explosion that occurred in Okene, Kogi State on Thursday, December 29.
Idris Miliki, Executive Director of CHRCR made the suggestion in a statement in Lokoja.
He charged the Kogi State government to constitute an investigative panel to unravel the mystery behind the explosion
“The blast or Explosion that occurred in Okene, on the 29 December 2022, is worrisome, unfortunate and condemnable.
“While we await the the reports of various security agencies on the avoidable incident, we also sympathy with the family of the affected person. it’s regrettable that such act could take place when the president was officially visiting the state, make more worrisome.
Again, this development is frightening as we have less than 60 days to the 2023, general Elections in Nigeria.
“We call on security agencies to put all measures in place, to avoid such unfortunate and embarrassing circumstances that we found ourselves in the state,” Miliki said in the statement. (vitalnewsngr.com)
