Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the kidnap of one of its officers in Lade Community, Patigi Local Government Council Area of the state.
The officer was kidnapped in the early hours of Thursday while coming back from Lade community police station where he was attached.
He was said to be returning on his motorcycle from an official assignment to Patigi General Hospital when he was kidnapped.
His motorcycle was later found abandoned along the Patigi-Lade road, a route notorious for criminal attacks in recent times.
Spokesperson of the Kwara State Police Command, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the kidnap of the officer simply identified as Mr Ezra.
“The officer was abducted on his way back to Lade after official duty.
“His motorcycle was discovered on the road, and our operatives are making every effort to rescue him and arrest those behind the act,” Ejire-Adeyemi stated
She said efforts were already underway to secure the officer’s release and bring the perpetrators to justice
Meanwhile, the incident has been causing panic among residents of Patigi Local Government Area.
