Sokoto – Bandits have kidnapped 11 persons in Gatawa village, Sabo Birni Local Government area of Sokoto State.
Among those kidnapped is Malam Aminu Garba, the Chief Imam of the village.
The bandits stormed the village on Friday, December 10 to abduct the Imam and three others when they were about observing the jumua congregational prayer.
The bandits came back again on Saturday , December 11 to kidnap seven other persons on Sabon Birni-Gatawa road.
During the Saturday operation which they did by blocking the road, three other villagers were also shot .
The member, representing Sabon Birni South constituency in the state house assembly, Hon. Sa’idu Ibrahim, confirmed the attack.
He said the injured persons were currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Wamakko.
According to him, a woman who was among those shot got her leg amputated because it could not be fixed.
Efforts made to contact the spokesman of the Sokoto State Police Command , ASP Sanusi Abubakar for confirmation did not yield result.(vitalnews)
