Ibadan – Gunmen suspected to be assassins have killed Professor Isaac Opeyemi Ajewole of the University of Ibadan.
Ajewole was killed Monday evening in the Moniya area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
He was said to be returning home when he was shot several times by his assailants.
His corpse has been deposited at Department of Anatomy at the University of Ibadan.
Reports said his killers late escape the scene in his car.
A friend of the deceased, Olukayode Ogunsanwo, also confirmed the death of the assassination of Professor Ajewole.
The late professor was until his death, a lecturer in the Department of Forest Resources Management of the university.
Principal Assistant Registrar, Public Communications, University of Ibadan, Mrs Joke Akinpelu, also confirmed the assassination of Professor Ajewole to newsmen in Ibadan on Tuesday.
