The Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute (ARMTI) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Abia State Government on how to transform agricultural practices across the state through targeted training, rural development, and empowerment initiatives aimed at wealth creation for farmers.
The collaboration was formalized when the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of ARMTI, Dr. Olufemi Oladunni, led a high-powered delegation to a strategic meeting with the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti.
Governor Otti, while speaking at the meeting, reaffirmed his conviction that agriculture remains a key driver of economic transformation and a viable pathway to sustainable wealth creation for his people.
He noted that the state recently concluded a training programme for about 200 youths, which included empowerment support.
“Now with ARMTI on board, we can move forward to train and empower successive batches under the technical guidance and expertise of ARMTI,” the governor said.

In his response, Dr. Oladunni commended Governor Otti for his visionary approach to governance and commitment to agricultural development.
He expressed appreciation to the state government for providing the enabling environment for ARMTI to establish its presence in the South-East, noting the prompt provision of a suitable facility and the efficiency of the governor’s team.
The new ARMTI South-East Regional Office will be located within the premises of the Greater Ohafia Development Authority (GODA), from where the institute will coordinate its programmes and activities across the region.
Dr. Oladunni explained that ARMTI’s Regional Training Centres (RTCs) are designed to ensure greater reach and direct impact in rural communities, thereby enhancing the full implementation and effectiveness of government agricultural policies and interventions.
