APC Stakeholders Urge LG Chairmen To Respect Senator Karimi’s Stance On Purported Endorsement

Local government council chairmen have been advised to guide their comments on the stance of Senator Sunday Steve Karimi on the purported endorsement of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Ododo for a second term in office.

The advice was given on Monday by Concerned APC members in Kogi West Senatorial District in a statement released on Monday in Lokoja.

The stakeholders warned that such uncomplimentary remarks by the council chairmen is not in the best interest of the party.

In the statement signed Alhaji Suleiman Mohammed, the APC stakeholders said the council chairmen lack credibility and moral right to speak for the people.

Suleiman questioned how the “selected chairmen who lack visible records of stewardship after over a year in office, can compare themselves to Senator Karimi, who campaigned across all seven local government areas and enjoys the people’s mandate.

“You’re questioning Karimi’s representation, yet you never win elections and were selected against the people’s wish.

The APC Stakeholders in Kogi West Senatorial District urged the council chairmen to keep a low profile instead of exposing their limitations.

Suleiman said : ” it’s heartbreaking for those who never win elections to challenge someone with a clear mandate.

“The chairmen are ranting due to a lack of achievements.”

He advised them to focus on governance, by providing the leadership needed to drive development in their various local government council areas, and “leave flattery alone.”

The APC Stakeholders then expressed their support for Senator Karimi, saying that Kogi State people are aware of President Tinubu’s popularity and achievements, and won’t be deceived.

“Senator Karimi is on course,” Mohammed said.
