Abuja – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed that its national convention will now hold on March 26 at Eagles Square, Abuja.
Sen. John Akpankudohede, National Secretary, APC Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) announced this while speaking with newsmen on Monday in Abuja.
Akopankudohede who spoke after the committee’s closed door meeting said that the February 26 earlier fixed for the convention was no longer feasible.
He, however, stated that activities for the forthcoming National Convention of the party will commence from Feb. 24.
“After deliberation and agreement with the CECPC, we have agreed and approved that the activities of the National Convention will commence from Feb. 24 and terminates on March 26 at Eagle Square with the National Convention.
“In between the convention, we have agreed to have zonal congresses.
” Pursuant to Article 12.6 of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Constitution, the party hereby releases its Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the Zonal Congresses across the Six (Geo-political Zones as follows:
“Thursday, 24 February, , publication of Zonal Committees , Saturday, 26th February, meeting of Zonal Stakeholders , Monday, 28th February – Thursday 3rd March,, sales of forms for Zonal positions ,Saturday, 5th March, screening of Zonal Aspirants.
“Other schedules are ; Sunday, 6th March, screening Appeal , Tuesday 8th March, adoption of screening Report , Saturday, 12th March, Zonal Congresses , Monday, 14th March, Zonal Congresses Appeal , Wednesday, 16th March, adoption of Appeal Report,” he said. (vitalnews)
