Ibadan- Engr. Kingsley Achefe has been appointed as the new
Managing Director/CEO of
Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC).
Achefe, a Fellow of of the Nigeria Society of Engineers (FNSE) assumed duty on July 10.
Achefe was a former General Manager at Egbin Power Plant and a Special Assistant to the Minister of State for Power.
He was also a Member of the National Technical Investigative Panel on Power System Collapses/
System Stability And Reliability (June, 2013 ).
The new IBEDC helmsman was the Chief Executive Officer of Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company untill his retirement and pull out.
He is expected to bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new position at the troubled IBEDC.
IBEDC which franchise areas include,Ogun,Oyo, Osun,Kwara and parts of Kogi and Ekiti States was recently rated as the worst disco in Nigeria by the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE).
The disco has since the begining of privatisation of the power sector has been from going from one problem to another due largely to very poor quality services and bad customer relations.
It is hoped that the coming of Achefe will mark a new begining for the disco and a relief to customers whose social and economic activities have been impacted negatively by the poor quality services of IBEDC over the years. (vitalnewsngr.com)
