Katsina woman escaped from kidnappers after spending 105 days in captivity
Katsina – A Katsina woman, Asmau Dalhatu has escaped from her kidnappers after spending 105 days with them.
Asmau who was kidnapped in September 4 this year when terrorists invaded her village, Tafoki , Faskari local government area.
She is the immediate younger sister of the Katsina State Deputy Speaker, Hon. Shehu Tafoki.
The Deputy Speaker on Saturday in Katsina confirmed Asmau’s escape from her abductors.
“She escaped during a military onslaught on the enclave where she was kept,” he said.
The Deputy Speaker said Asmau’s ordeal started at about 1am on September 4 when bandits invaded Tafoki village and went straight to the Dalhatu’s family house.
In the process, they kidnapped Asmau and one of her sisters, he said.
” On their way into the forest, they encountered members of the vigilante group with which exchanged gunfire, in the process, one of the girls escaped and returned home, but the other could not run away, so they went away with her,” the lawmaker narrated.
According to him, Asma’u is a Secondary School leaver and was about to be given out in marriage when the incident happened. (vitalnews)
