Abuja – The National Industrial Court has ordered the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), to call off its ongoing strike and resume work immediately.
Justice Polycap Hamman issued the order on Wednesday while ruling on an application filed by the Federal Government against the union.
Government had asked the court to compelled members of ASUU to go back to work pending the resolution of their demands for better working condition.
University lecturers in the country have been strik for the past seven months.
The Court in issuing the order invoked section 18 of the Trade Dispute Act and national interest of the Nigerian students to grant the request of the Federal Government for an order of injunction against the lecturers.
