The Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport (NASST), Benin, Edo State, on Friday graduated 390 officers and soldiers who successfully completed eight specialised logistics courses for the fourth quarter of 2025.

In his welcome address, the Commandant of the school, Major-General Adebayo Adegbite, said the graduates underwent rigorous and comprehensive training in line with the command philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff.

Adegbite explained that the courses covered key areas including logistics management, supply operations, driving and vehicle maintenance, fire and safety, as well as catering and hospitality.

“These students have been thoroughly prepared in accordance with the standards of the Nigerian Army.

“I am confident that they are ready to put into practice the lessons learnt from this demanding programme,” he said.

The commandant expressed appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff and the Commander, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), for their continuous support and guidance, which he said had significantly enhanced the school’s training capacity.

He also commended the Director of Training for his “tremendous effort in shaping the students into useful assets for Nigeria and the world.”

Adegbite further disclosed that partnerships with private sector institutions had continued to enrich NASST’s curriculum, with the integration of research and development, information and communication technology (ICT), social media literacy, leadership training and core logistics doctrine.

Providing further insight into the training programme, the Deputy Commandant and Director of Training, Brigadier-General K. E. Inyang, said the school remained committed to delivering pragmatic, competency-based training for both officers and soldiers.

According to him, the fourth-quarter courses were inaugurated between October and November, featuring extensive classroom instruction, doctrinal studies, practical exercises and field operations.

Inyang noted that participants engaged in collaborative problem-solving, presentations, doctrinal reviews and hands-on training in areas such as catering services, petroleum product handling, vehicle operations, fire response and logistics chain management.

He added that several graduating courses executed endowment projects, including equipment donations, facility renovations and instructional upgrades, as part of their contributions to strengthening the institution.

The Director of Training also highlighted NASST’s strategic role during Exercise Mobile Mobility IV, a nationwide field training operation, where students were deployed to provide logistics support in transportation, petroleum supply, catering and fire safety.

“The exercise exposed our students to real-time field conditions and reinforced their understanding of the Nigerian Army’s logistics doctrine,” he said.

Speaking as the Special Guest of Honour, Brigadier-General Ahmed Balogun, Commander, 4 Brigade, Nigerian Army, commended the institution for sustaining a culture of excellence.

He described the graduating personnel as critical contributors to the operational efficiency of the Nigerian Army, stressing that logistics personnel remained pivotal to mission success.

“This moment stands as a testament to your dedication, resilience and unwavering commitment to excellence.

“Your role in ensuring the efficient movement of personnel and materiel, as well as maintaining high service standards, is fundamental to achieving the operational goals of the Nigerian Army,” Balogun said.

He urged the graduates to uphold professionalism, discipline and the core values of the Nigerian Army wherever they are deployed, while also commending the school’s leadership for quality training delivery, improved infrastructure and sound academic oversight.
