The Chairmen of all the 21 Local Government Councils in Kogi State have endorsed Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for a second term in office.
The Chairmen took the decision jointly with serving 239 elected Councillors from all the electoral wards in state.
The endorsement followed a motion by the Chairman of Olamaboro Local Government, Hon. William Ameh, and seconded by the Chairperson of the Forum of Councillors, Obaromi Comfort Olufunke from Kabba Bunu Local Government.
The motion was then unanimously accepted by all 21 council chairmen and the 239 ward councilors.
This declaration of support took place on the sideline of a three-day induction course for elected local government officials currently ongoing in Lokoja.
The course is also bein attended by finance and administrative officers of the 21 local government councils.
The Chairmen cited Governor Ododo’s unifying leadership style and his unwavering commitment to grassroots development for their decision.
They highlighted his administration’s strategic investments in agriculture, education, health, solid minerals development, women and youth empowerment as key achievements justifying the call for his reelection for a second term.
The council bosses further emphasized that the Ododo-led administration has delivered the dividends of democracy across communities, ensuring that governance is felt at the grassroots level throughout the state.
The Chairmen and Councillors further stressed that the surest path to sustaining the state’s current momentum of growth, unity, and good governance lies in the re-election of Governor Ododo in 2027, pledging their unwavering support for his administration and the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
