Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has dissolved the state Executive Council.
Eno announced the removal of his entire cabinet members on Friday in Uyo.
He cited the need to bring in fresh faces and professionals to drive the state’s development agenda for his action.
Eno immediately invited the sacked Commissioners and Special Advisers to a valedictory session at the Exco Chamber.
The governor commended them for their hard work and dedication, stating that none of them underperformed during their tenure.
“All of you have delivered, and that’s why the Arise Agenda has succeeded.
“But we must come to the end of a season, start another season, and keep moving,” he said.
Most of the sacked commissioners have been in office for almost 10 years, with some serving under former Governor Udom Emmanuel.
It is understood that the commissioners and advisers were retained by Governor Eno to allow them to complete their tenure as compensation for their services.
