Ubah died in the early hours of Saturday in a London hospital where he was receiving treatment for an illness.

Until his death, Ubah was elected Senator in 2019 on the platform of the Young Progressive Party, YPP, and reelected on that platform in 2023.

He defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, earlier this year and has indicated interest in seeking the governorship of Anambra State in next year’s election.

Ubah contested the 2021 Anambra governorship election and came fourth in a contest won by Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

In September 2022, Ubah narrowly escaped an assassination attempt by gunmen while traveling to Nnewi in Enugwu-Ukwu, Anambra State.

His convoy was attacked, resulting in the deaths of at least five people, including two police officers, according to the police.

He is survived by his wife Uchenna and their five children.(vitalnewsngr.com)
