Two Lagos secondary school teachers, Akindoyin Akintelewa, 33 and Mabayoje Olusegun, 37, have been arrested for allegedly gang-raping a 15-year old female student.

The accused were said to have raped the girl for several months before they were eventually caught in the act.

The incident took place at State Junior Grammer School, Ifako Ijaiye area of Lagos, where the suspects were employed as teachers.

The Police alleged that
the teachers lured the girl to an undisclosed place and used their fingers to tamper with her private part from November, 2021 and eventually opened it up for penetration.

The finger penetrations was said to have continued before they started engaging her in sex romp in February, 2022 before the information leaked and the girl opened up.

The matter was reported to the Police at Isokoko Division.

The teachers were subsequently arrested and detained at the police station for investigation over the act.

After thorough investigation, the Police found them culpable and subsequently charged them before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.

When they were arraigned, the Court did not take their plea following a motion moved by the Prosecutor, Supol Bisi Ogunleye, asking the court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.

Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubeinje, ordered their remand in custody and directed the prosecutor to duplicate and send the file to the DPP for advice.

The matter was adjourned till 24th April, 2022, for the DPP’s report to be available, which will determine if the matter will be referred to a High Court or not.
