Gov Uzodimma Sworn In For Second Term In Office

Governor Hope Uzodimma, of Imo State has been sworn in for a second term in office.

Uzodimma took the oath of office at around 3:24 pm in Owerri on Monday after his deputy, Chinyere Ekomaru.

Speaking at the event, President Bola Tinubu, on Monday, in Owerri, assured Nigerians not to be bothered about the mass exodus of skilled workers leaving the country.

President Bola Tinubu greers former President Olusegun Obasanjo at the event .

He gave assurance that Federal Government in collaboration with sub-nationals will train more persons to fill the professional gap in health, tech and other sectors.

Tinubu said the education of children and youths remained a priority for the administration of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Independent National Electoral Commission announced Uzodimma as the winner of the state governorship election held in November 2023.

Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress won the election with 540,308 votes, while Samuel Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party came in a distant second with a total of 71,503 votes.

Athan Achonu of the Labour Party polled 64,081 votes to come third in the election.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker, House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, All Progressives Congress leaders, and supporters attended the event.
