The Executive Secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), Reverend Yakubu Pam has appealed to Nigerians to provide prompt information that will assist security agencies in tackling banditry, kidnapping and other security challenges in the country.
Reverend Pam gave the advice while on a visit to Saint Raphael Catholic Church, Fadan Kamantan Zango Kataf Local Government area of Kaduna State recently attacked by bandits which led to the death of a seminarian.
Reverend Pam described the recent attacks in some parts of the country as worrisome.
He said for the efforts of security agencies to yield the needed results, Nigerians especially the youths must rise up and report every threat to lives and property to security agencies in their areas
“The bandits have resolved for people not to be sleeping, the kidnappers have resolved for people not to be sleeping.
“I believe that Nigeria must survive, for that reason, both the government and the people must join hands to shun all these and as soon as possible to eradicate from our country.
“It is not only here I heard a story that even in other parts of the country,” he said.
The Catholic priest of Saint Raphael Church, Fadan Kamantan, Reverend Emmanuel Okolo said the attacks would not deter him from promoting peaceful co-existence and the spread of the gospel in the area.
“It will interest you to know that the seminarian that they killed, some of his personal valuables belongings were not burnt.
” For myself and my assistant, everything was burnt, we came out of the fire alive only by the grace of God,” the Cleric said.
In a remark, the Paramount chief of Abtang Cheifdom Fadan Kamantan, Adamu Alkali appealed to the Federal Government to increase the presence of security agencies to check incessant attacks in the country. (Radio Nigeria / vitalnewsngr.com)
