Bello Lauds Amirul Hajj, Abdullahi Over Successful Conduct Of Hajj, Congratulates Muslims On New Islamic Year

Lokoja – Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, has commended the state 2023 Amirul Hajj, Alhaji Zakariyau Abubakar Aliyu (Zaak) and the Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Hajj Commission, Sheikh Luqman Imam Abdullah over the successful conduct of this year’s hajj exercise.

Bello, gave the commendation in Lokoja on Saturday while speaking at an event organised by the state chapter of the Council of Ulama’u ( COU) to commemorate the celebration of the new Islamic year, Hijrah 1445AH.

Bello, who was represented at the event by the state Commissioner for finance, Hon. Ashiru Idris, commended Aliyu, Abdullahi and the entire staff of the commission for their service to the state.

He lauded their conduct while in Saudi Arabia for the hajj exercise and expressed happiness that all 719 state contingent to this year’s hajj came back successfully and intact.

Idris said the state government will continue to ensure a level playing ground for all adherents to practice their religions unhindered.

The Commissioner congratulated all muslims for witnessing another Islamic year, urging them to use the opportunity offered by the new year to renew their commitment and love for the country and fellow humans.

“The new Islamic year symbolizes a time of reflection, renewal, and spiritual rejuvenation.

“It serves as a reminder of the values of unity, faith, and perseverance that continue to guide and inspire Muslims across the globe,” he said.

He urged the people of the state to continue to believe in the administration of President Bola Tinubu, saying that the new president will ensure shared prosperity.

He also alluded to the huge N907 billion June revenue recently disbursed to the three tiers of government, saying that the state will use part of its share to provide succour for the people.

Idris, said the state government is also planning to disburse N7 billion to small and medium scale enterprises (MSMEs) operating in the state to keep them in business and prevent job loss.

He promised that the state government will soon embark on provision of more infrastructural facilities, saying that the deplorable Ganaja road within Lokoja metropolis will be fixed soonest.

The commissioner appealed to the people to continue praying for peace, tranquillity, and economic development,of Kogi State and Nigeria.

Dignitaries at the event include the Ohimegye-lgu of Koton-Karfe, Alhaji Abdulrazak Isa Koto, Alhaji Shuaibu   Muhammed Ayegbaje, the Olukotun of Ife-Olukotun, Alhaji Ahmed Tijani Muhammed Anaja, the Ohi of Okenge-Ehi, top government officials, Islamic scholars, traditional rulers, clerics and others.
