He, however, said both the driver and other occupants of the vehicle took to their heels, thereby escaping arrest.

The Comptroller said the vehicle and its contents have been handed over to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for appropriate action.

He expressed displeasure that while the Federal Government is doing its best trying to cater for its citizenry some unpatriotic Nigerians are bent on sabotaging this efforts without regards to the negative consequences of such act

Kadejo explained that officers and men of the Niger/Kogi Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service are all out to do their job and anyone caught will not be spared.

He commended them for their commitment in ensuring zero tolerance on smuggling activities and protecting critical national assets.

Kadejo applauded the Federal Government for providing them with enabling environment to carry out their official duty.

He later handed over the Mitsubishi Canter to the state Commandant of the NSCDC,
Ahmed Mohammed Dan’dare.

Receiving the vehicle and items, the NSCDC boos appreciated the synergy existing among security agencies in the state which he said has been yielding positive results.

Dan’dare commended Kadejo and his men for their efforts, promising to ensure that the needful is done to the vehicle and items.
