Lokoja – The 722 intending pilgrims to this year’s hajj from Kogi State will depart Lokoja today, Sunday May 4 , for Abuja for their maiden flight to Saudi Arabia early Monday morning.
The 2023 Amirul Hajj, Mallam Zakariyahu Aliyu Abubakar (ZAAK) confirmed this in Lokoja.
He said the intending pilgrims are to assemble at the hajj camp of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Sunday .
He said all things being equal, the first batch of the intending pilgrims will depart Nigeria Monday morning to Saudi Arabia for the hajj exercise.
The Kogi State Hajj Commission had earlier in a statement directed the intending pilgrims to report at the FCT hajj camp located around the Nnamdi Azikiwe international Airport, Abuja, on Sunday 4th June, 2023 by 12 noon prompt.
The commission warned the intending pilgrims against carrying luggage in excess of 8kg allocated to them.
It also warned them against carrying illegal substance like; Kolanut, hard drugs, sharp objects, ropes and liquid substance.
” In addition, pilgrims are to be in their uniform given to them by the commission,” the commission said .
It reminded intending pilgrims who did not submit their Covid-19 Card to the commission to come along with them to the camp.
