Abuja – The President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu says the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be victorious in the coming November 11 governorship election in Kogi State.
Tinubu stated this on Saturday while receiving in audience , the governorship candidate of the APC in the election, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and the incumbent Governor Yahaya Bello at Defence House, Abuja.
Mohammed Onogwu, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Yahaya Bello in a statement said Tinubu prayed for Ododo’s victory in the election during the visit.
He also assured him of his total support and that of other leaders of the party .
The President -elect, however, urged APC members in Kogi State to close ranks and work towards the party’s total victory at the polls.
According to him, Kogi State has been an APC stronghold with consistent electoral victories since 2015 and this should be further confirmed with the coming election.
Tinubu then commended the party’s leadership and members for the APC’s overwhelming victory in the February 25 and March 18 general elections.
Earlier, Governor Yahaya Bello, had while introducing Ododo to the President -elect said party members elected Ododo as the governorship candidate based on
on his capacity, competence, and ability to lead effectively.
He assured Tinubu that the people of Kogi State would vote for consolidation, which Ododo’s candidacy represents, having witnessed the progress made in the state in the last seven years.
