NAHCON Shares 95,000 2023 Hajj Seats To States, FCT

Abuja – The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), says it has shared the 95,000 hajj slots allocated to Nigeria among the 36 state pilgrims welfare boards/agencies/ Commissions, Federal Capital Territory and the Armed Forces .

The commission stated this in a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday.

Mousa Ubandawaki, Assistant Director, Information and Publications, NAHCON, signed the statement.

It explained that the final figure was ratified by NAHCON at its recent executive council meeting.

The seat allocation/ distribution is as follows : Abia, 53, Adamawa, 2,669, Anambra, 39, Bauchi, 3, 132, Bayelsa, 35, Benue, 236, Borno, 2,735 , Cross Rivers, 66, Delta, 74, Nassarawa State, 1,567, Niger State, 5,165, Ogun State, 1,139 and Ondo State, 436.

Others are Osun State, 1,054, Oyo State, 1,441, Yobe State, 1,968, Ebony State, 117, Edo State, 274, Ekiti State, 197, Enugu State, 40, FCT, 3,520, Gombe State, 2,301, Imo State, 30, Jigawa State, 1,525, Kaduna State, 5982 Kano State, 5,902, Katsina State, 4,913, Kebbi State, 4871, Kwara State, 3,219, Lagos State, 3,576, Plateau State, 1,984, Rivers State, 50, Sokoto State, 5,504 and Taraba State, 1,590.

The statement said “Kogi State allocation will be released after the conclusion of the ongoing review of its activities while allocation of Akwa Ibom State was suspended due to non renewal of it’s operating licence.

“All the the states are expected to remit payment of 50 per cent of the 2023 seat allocation to Commission before the 10th of February deadline.

“Inability to comply with the deadline will lead to reduction in allocation to such state,” the statement concluded. (vitalnewsngr.com)
